Community Description

The community of Richmond – Knob Hill is located in Calgary’s southwest. It is one of Calgary’s older communities and was annexed in two phases, first in 1907, then in 1910. Most of the development in this area occurred in the 1950s. Richmond – Knob hill residents’ have easy access to Calgary’s pathway system and the community is located nearby the Southwest Regional Park, Richmond Green golf course. The commercial area of Marda Loop is also nearby.

Richmond-Knob Hill recently completed construction of a new community centre which offers a variety of activities to residents. A playgroup, dog training groups and a moms and tots group make use of the center. Richmond – Knob Hill hockey and pleasure skating rinks offer recreational opportunities to residents. The permanent rink offers year around activities - including basketball nets. The community centre also hosts the Chili cook-out celebrations. The Casino's allow the centre to raise money for these events.
