Community Description

go to top ^

The area comprising Haysboro was once owned by Harry Hays, a native-born Albertan who was elected as Mayor of Calgary during the early 1950s. Mr. Hays was a dedicated westerner who went on to gain provincial and national political acclaim as Federal Minister of Agriculture between 1962 and 1965 and later as a member of the Canadian Senate. The community was annexed in 1956 and two years later development began in Haysboro. Proximity to major transportation routes allows for easy access to many other parts of the City. In addition, the Light Rail Transit (L.R.T.) system is easily accessible to Haysboro residents. This community is favourably located in terms of recreation opportunities, wit the Glenmore Reservoir and the pathway nearby.
