The Fairview community association offers a number of programs and is perhaps best known for its recreation programs. The community centre houses a large indoor arena, which is used by community members as well as the Wild Rose figure skaters, Youth hockey clubs, the Canskate program and Ringette teams. Fairview’s community facilities are also used for an out of school program, Playtime and Tyketime co-ops, karate, Taekwan Do, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. The popular Fish Creek Senior’s social club also meets in the hall for bridge or whist games, fitness classes and folk dancing. The community also has an annual Spring Fling clean up, a parade of garage sales, craft sales, Skate with Santa, tour of Christmas lights and New Years Eve Potluck and skate party. Fairview also remains in close contact with the City to advocate on behalf of residents on issues ranging from traffic concerns to zoning regulations.
